Meeting with the Premier of Victoria and State Minister for Multicultural Affairs

On Wednesday 5 November 2025, His Grace Bishop Rewis had the pleasure of meeting with The Hon Jacinta Allan MP, Premier of Victoria, and The Hon Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs. His Grace was accompanied by Fr Daniel Ghabrial, Vicar-General of the Diocese, along with Diocesan community representatives. The meeting took place at Treasury Place in Melbourne’s CBD.

The discussion highlighted the significant contributions of the Coptic Orthodox community to the State of Victoria, including the establishment of new parishes, schools, aged care centres and a range of community initiatives that serve Victorians of all backgrounds.

The Diocese of Melbourne expresses its gratitude to the Premier and the Minister for their continued support and recognition of the Coptic Orthodox community’s role in enriching Victoria’s cultural and spiritual landscape.
