Statement on the First Anniversary of the Appointment of His Grace Bishop Rewis

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the appointment of His Grace Bishop Rewis as General Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne, effective 1 July 2025, the clergy and faithful of this Christ-loving Diocese extend their heartfelt congratulations, profound gratitude and filial love to His Grace.

Over the past year, the Diocese of Melbourne has been richly blessed by His Grace’s fatherly care, vigilant attention and pastoral shepherding. Through his wisdom, humility and steadfast service, His Grace has laboured for the spiritual edification of the faithful, the strengthening of diocesan life and the continued growth of the ministry entrusted to him.

We give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, the True Shepherd of our souls, for granting our Diocese a faithful shepherd who serves with love, diligence and devotion. We pray that the Lord may continue to preserve His Grace, strengthen him in his apostolic ministry, and grant him good health, heavenly wisdom and many fruitful years of service for the glory of His Holy Name and the building up of His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

The Diocese also sends its sincere thanks and appreciation to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II for his fatherly love, care and discernment in appointing His Grace Bishop Rewis to serve and shepherd the blessed Diocese of Melbourne.

May the Lord preserve the life and ministry of His Grace Bishop Rewis for many years and peaceful times, and may He continue to bless the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne through his faithful shepherding.
