BRIEF HISTORY

History  On 16 March 2000, a farm of five acres was bought to the north of the city of Perth, with the intentioned to establish a Church on site that would serve the 75 Coptic families who lived in the surrounding vicinity.

 The piece of land purchased was formerly a horse farm comprising of a house, a stable of 12 rooms for horses, a storage room for horses doffer and two water wells. It has been left in stage disrepair with remains of rising track and hundreds of old types left lying around. Despite lack of financial recourses, the congregation of the new Church showed a wonderful spirit of commitment with children, ladies, parents and elderly laboring to build their Church with their own hands.

 The fodder storage area became a makeshift Church catering for 250 people, the stable came twelve Sunday school classes and the new toilet facilities were built for men, women and the disabled.

In addition rooms were built for storage, kitchen, canteen, and library and well as an office for the parish priest.

 Reinforced concrete walkways were built under cover, roads and the first stage of the church car park was established in the grounds for the church. A 50 meter fence along the front with steel fates according to the Coptic tradition was also built.

 The perimeter of the Church grounds was also planted with Casuarina trees and an orchard of one acre was planed with olive trees and other plants.

 The new church, approximately 500 square meters is now nearing completion.
